Strut your stuff at SG Stomping 2010
By Yuda
A fringe event to Singapore's Mettle Games - described as the most spectacular action sports extravaganza in Singapore - SG Stomping 2010 is a rock fest that aims to showcase some of the region's finest acts to an expected crowd of 50,000 over three days.
Taking place from 29 - 31 October and 5 - 7 November in venues like Xtreme Skate Park @ East Coast, SKI 360 @ East Coast, Pit Building and the Singapore Flyer, the Mettle Games will see sports like drag car racing, wakeboarding, BMX competitions and more. This year, the infamous Alain Robert aka the French Spiderman will be making an appearance as well.
Complementing the two weeks of extreme sports will be SG Stomping. Registration is now open for interested bands and will continue unti 18 September. Organisers are looking to shortlist 35 acts from genres like metal, grunge, punk, grindcore, hard rock and electronic rock. Besides getting a chance to perform an international audience, a special compilation CD will also be produced featuring songs from selected acts. There is however a registration fee of $150 per act.

Woah! Lady Gaga Looked Super Normal In College
By Yuda
(Credit: In Touch Weekly)
The good people over at "In Touch Weekly" dug up this (relatively) old-school photo of Lady Gaga during her college year at New York University, back when she was just Stefani Germanotta, and just like "us," she wore jeans and t-shirts to class and had to schlep her own stuff around. Hard to believe that a girl who wore a neck brace and a red lace snood to the 2009 MTV VMAs was wearing baggy jeans a plain old shirt just a few years back.
Oh, and if you inexplicably haven't heard, Lady Gaga's been nominated for a record-breaking 13 VMAs this year. And while the VMA attendees haven't been announced yet, could you imagine the shock if Gaga showed up on the 2010 VMA red carpet in... jeans and a t-shirt?
