I loathe aggression in music. When 50 Cent got bottled at Reading, I barely even doubled up laughing.

Even so, there’s something about a hefty uppercut caught on camera that appeals to the horrible nihilistic bastard in us all. I was reminded of that today when someone sent me this clip of Robbie Furze from The Big Pink punching a heckler’s lights out (0.35).

Obviously that’s a totally unacceptable way to treat your own paying fans. A karate kick to the Adam’s apple would’ve been far more appropriate.

Predictably, it inspired a flurry of office emails where everyone suggested their own favourite examples of onstage violence. Here are a few of the best/funniest/most deplorable/delete as appropriate.

Singapore atmospheric black metal band Eibon has been around for 21 years. Having gone through a journey so tough that most bands probably would not survive, they are finally going to release their first full length album in 15 years, entitled "Crudified" this year. I had the privilege to conduct this email interview with Shalwend, mastermind behind the band, to share his experiences.

"I like how they update with us with all the music or Gigs that will happened here in Singapore.. Even before the press release it."

"Its a quite impeccable online source for music scenes that happens in Singapore where it list out all details about it, thus it keeps me up-to-date, always. Other thing is to know more musicians, from the amatuers to the highly regards"

"Magazine, with contributors constantly updating members on music news in Singapore, not only on Live4Music.com, but also on the group on Facebook.  It also enables users like me to contribute to the magazine, which I really like a lot since the only other place where I can do so is my personal blog, which hardly gets any traffic."


Question 7: What do you dislike about Live4MusiC?

"The forum. It is way under utilized by its users and hence lacked the ability to establish itself as a place for interactivity and the exchange of information."

"1. Videos too cluttered, the more 'commercialised' videos (which can be found easily in youtube or official websites) shouldnt be uploaded to the website (unless needed for articles etc) so that the more exclusive videos can be found more easily (can administer the browsing of the videos page more conveniently).  2. The slow bandwidth can be improved to make surfing the website a more pleasant experience."

"Not much updates on the local scene here. Forums are quite dead since lesser people know about this site"


Question 8: In what ways can Live4MusiC do better?

"Improve video and sound quality. Increase marketing for your website."

"Include a "Local Bands" section that can update the viewers with the band's press releases, upcoming gigs, album launches etc (band interviews could be done too!). This can give some exposure to the local bands as well as allow the viewers to know more about the local music scene. Its not as dead as it seems."

"Probably set up an emailing service that helps to inform if any of your favorite acts will be coming to Singapore. As it make it customized to it's users favorite bands."
