We know how much you guys want to go for this big event of the year! So we're giving you a chance to win a pair of tickets! Yes 2 Tickets (Free Standing Pen A)! 

Here's how to be the winner:

1. Create a post in the forum under the Big Night Out 2010 Contest Thread about anything relevant to Big Night Out 2010! (e.g. An article, video of a band, video created by yourself, or anything at all as long as you can justify how it is related to Big Night Out 2010!) Forum Thread here.

2. The post that receives the largest number of responses (excluding yourself and excluding repeat posts from the same user) will walk away with the tickets!

3. Should there be a tie, the winner will be drawn randomly between the tied contestants.

4. Multiple entries are allowed! Why not right?

5. The organizers reserve the right to disqualify any contestant should there be a case of creating multiple accounts or other forms of being unfair.

Contest will close on 10th Jan 2010 12am Server Time. What a better way to start the year? =)

First off, I'd like to thank Mr John Robinson, the organizer for granting me access to the gig and providing me with a press pass!



This is my first gig at Zirca and i foresee many more to come! It's a great place for the smaller scale gigs boasting disco style LED lighting backdrops and side panels that help to spice up the stage! The acoustics of the place, however, wasn't perfect. standing close to the stage means you hear more of a mess of sounds compared to standing at a distance where the sound balance is optimal. 

Live4MusiC Spotlight, an initiative from Live4MusiC aimed to provide a platform for musicians to expose themselves more and gain valuable playing experience, couldn't have started off stronger. Beginning from Maska Bar, we will be exploring more venues to allow the showcase of music across all genres!

Gracing our first spotlight was Swiftblade, Jordan from Pixel Apartment, and DELTA.

A Cozy Affair with ….

Yeah that’s Jasmine Tye, the bubbly, sweet faced teen who exhibited exceptional confidence each time she took on the stage. No surprise at all for her amazing achievement, clinching the 2^nd runner up for Singapore Idol Season 2 in 2006.

1130pm - 1230am: Jordan from Pixel Apartment (Acoustic Blues/Jazz/Rock) 
1230am - 130am: DELTA (Classic, Experimental, Pop, Modern, Progressive, Top 40's, Jazz, Pop, and Folk)

This is the first rendition of our very own Live4MusiC spotlight whereby talented bands are given an opportunity to showcase their musicianship! Through this, we hope to give experience and exposure to bands, identify talented bands, and of course most importantly, to have fun!

Well it wasn't too long ago when we were writing about how crazy NUS students were at Timbre MusicFest. I guess it just gets better! SMU's crazier!



Starry Nite X, an event organised BY the students, WITH the students, FOR the students. Organised every semester to celebrate the end of the semester (and the start of exams...awwww). The support for the event is truly awesome. The place was packed from the 1st set and everyone has a beer in hand. Can't go wrong when that happens.

Date: 13th November, Friday
Venue: Singapore Management University (SMU), School of Information Systems, Big Steps (Opposite the National Museum of Singapore)
Time: 7pm
Bands: Basis, EFX, Chordless, St Helens and EN-X.

We will constantly be having slots for talented bands to play at Maska Bar, called "Live4MusiC Spotlight".

There are still some openings for band performances in November, particularly on Fridays, and this will go on for the following months.

On top of that, we will be organizing a 2-3 Day Gig during Xmas!

As per our 1st gig, we do not require selling of tickets. Bands also stand a chance to be shortlisted and be recalled as a house band or on a ad-hoc basis where allowance will be provided.
