Brandon Flowers Speaks Out About Solo Record
By Yuda
The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers has finally spoken about his debut solo album.
The singer who revealed the project last month gave his first interview regarding Flamingo and stated one of his collaborators will be Rilo Kiley's singer Jenny Lewis.
"Jenny's helped me out on a couple of songs, and we also got
to duet on a song called 'Hard Enough,' which turned out
great," he said. "She's always popped into my mind
whenever I think about getting a female vocalist involved because
she's a fellow child of Las Vegas, too."
Aside from Lewis, Flowers revealed he has recruited a few famous producers for his solo effort. Flamingo will feature production work from Stuart Price (The Killers, Madonna), Daniel Lanois (U2, Neil Young) and Brendan O'Brien (Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen). The frontman also added that most of the material for his solo release was intended to be used on the next Killersrecord.
"To be honest, I personally would prefer it if this was a Killers record," said Flowers. "I certainly never sat around dreaming of going out on my own, but singing songs and writing songs, it's kind of what I do, you know? And I just don't want to stop right now."
As for The Killers current status, Flowers said he thinks his solo attempt will make the group stronger.
"I feel like I'm getting something out of my system with this album, but I want the next Killers album to be a wonderful collaboration between four guys who are ready to make the best record that they possibly can."- Ultimate-Guitar

Local singer Elson Soh to undergo treatment for tumour
By YudaNow, I don’t know Elson very well. I met him only once and he seems like a nice, humble guy who just wants to do music because he loves music as it is. According to those who know him, he’s also very helpful and supportive of his family, et al.
Anyway, I think he should be allowed to at least give this a real shot and not get cut down before he’s even had a chance to prove himself. Well wishes, prays and thoughts with you, Elson. May you get better soon!
(IN CASE you have no idea what I’m talking about, the following was posted last month on Facebook.)
28 April 2010 – He had saddened everybody who knows him when we know that he might be diagnose with throat cancer. His name is Elson Soh (苏奕铨) and he is very upset when the doctor tells him about it. He is waiting for the final results now, and hopefully the situation can turn out to be a positive and good one.
Elson Soh is a artiste from Singapore, maybe to many of you, his name is unfamiliar or even unknown, but to many radio listeners and online readers, his music is getting popular and he also gaining more recognition after three years of hard work and training.
But when he is about to set off for his dream and passion, the doctor discover a tumor inside his throat, and that explain why he keep coughing with blood especially after his performance recently. He is a very kindhearted artiste who always helps the needs and unfortunate ones by contributing his share and performance for them.
We are calling for everybody to pray for Elson Soh, a talent who appreciate music, work hard for music, and always share his knowledge to everybody who share the same dream as him. We sincerely and deeply pray that Elson Soh can be safe and sound, hoping to see him back to the music scene soon. Please pray for him, regardless what religion you are from, do pray for him to have good health.
You may leave him a encouragement comment in our Facebook group or his personal blog at www.elsonsoh.blogspot.com at any point of time. On behalf of Elson Soh, we thank you for your praying and blessing.- Christopher Toh (Poparazzi)
Paramore: Don't expect a new album any time soon
By Mohammed ShahSpeaking to Indiana's Quad-City Times, York said:
"Whenever we write new material, I think, like most bands, we get really excited about the new stuff we write, and it's harder to go back and play older stuff, so I think we're kind of just focusing on the new record and squeezing as much life out of that as we can."
"We've kind of learned how to write songs from a really honest state," he added. "The music industry is in a really tough place, and I think a lot of bands are seeing what is successful and seeing what's popular, and they're trying to re-create that. I think we just have learned that that's just not what we're about and not what we like doing. And it seems like we have a lot more success when we just write from our hearts and write what we really feel is true. We're not trying to please anyone."

Blur Plan To Record New Material
By Yuda
Damon Albarn has told Nme.com that Blur plan to record more one-off tracks in the near future.
The band recorded their first full song since 2003, "Fool's Day", for the recent Record Store Day celebrations.
Though stressing he is still very busy
with Gorillaz, who have just announced a UK
arena tour, Albarn explained that the
four-piece would reconvene occasionally to record again.
"I'm definitely going to do a few more of those seven-inches," he explained. "I love the no pressure aspect."
With plans to work on another opera withJamie Hewlett and Alan Moore, plus moreGorillaz releases, Albarn was keen to stress that fans may have to wait for more Blur songs, but they would come eventually.
"We can't do it all the time," he stressed. "So I don't want anyone to think there's an album coming soon, it's not possible, but we've got songs!"

By Yuda
A 30-second audio sample of Avenged Sevenfold's brand new single, "Nightmare", is available for streaming at Soundcloud.com.
The song comes off Avenged Sevenfold's fifth studio album, which is due out July 27.
Guitarist Zacky Vengeance wrote at the
band's official Twitter page, "There are no words that will
ever describe the feeling of listening to this album while
driving home alone at 4 a.m."
Dream Theaterdrummer Mike Portnoy recently issued a statement about being tapped to work withAvenged Sevenfold on the band's new album. Portnoy filled in for James "The Rev" Sullivan, who died in late December.Portnoy said, "Even under normal circumstances, I would've been happy to help the guys out in any way I could as I think AVENGED SEVENFOLD are a great band...but under these incredibly sad and tragic circumstances, I must say I am truly honored to have been asked to play with them and I didn't even have to think twice about saying 'yes.'"
Portnoy added, "These guys are a true family and it is an incredibly emotional experience to be here with them for the first time without their lost brother. But they have welcomed me into the family with open arms and there's a real excitement to make the record they had set out to make."
Portnoy also said, "I am treating my participation on this album with the utmost respect for Jimmy's memory and am remaining as true as possible to the drum parts that he wrote for the songs and the record he wanted to make."

By YudaQueen are reported to be on the verge of leaving EMI after nearly 40 years.
Classic Rock Magazine reports that the band are due to see out their current deal with the troubled EMI label before moving to Universal who are thought to have put a multi-million pound deal on the table.
The band have been with EMI for their
entire career, but with their 40th Anniversary rapidly
approaching in 2011 it’s thought that a more lucrative offer from
Universal may persuade the band to see out their deal with their
current label which expires at the end of the year.
EMI has struggled to hold onto its big stars in recent years with high profile departures such as Paul McCartney, Radiohead and the Rolling Stones and a lawsuit from Pink Floyd over unpaid royalties adding to concerns that the historic label is ailing.
Queen have not announced any plans for 2011 to commemorate their 40th birthday, but you can be pretty sure that the band will be planning something.
Thanks for the report to PlanetRock.comParamore Working On New Songs -- Two Seconds At A Time
By Mohammed ShahBand says ideas for new songs are often born on tour, but usually written at home.
It seems odd to talk about "new" Paramore songs, given that their Brand New Eyes album is just seven months old, but the fact remains that there actually are some new tracks in the works ... albeit very slowly."[Frontwoman Hayley Williams] normally needs to rest her voice during show days, so she'll come to soundcheck sometimes and just listen to her in-ear monitors," drummer Zac Farro told MTV News on Saturday at the Bamboozle festival in New Jersey. "The other day, we were just messing around — we have a couple of songs we just play for fun. They're never anything we'll probably use, but we've been playing them for a while. [They're] just random, two-second things."
So while it sounds like those "two-second" things might not amount to much, Farro quickly added, "Actually, 'Decode' and 'I Caught Myself' [Paramore's two songs on the "Twilight" soundtrack] were kind of written that way, so you never really know."
Williams agreed, though she made it clear that the band is still very much focused on playing songs from Brand New Eyes, and said that the majority of writing for the follow-up — whenever it may happen — will take place at home in Franklin, Tennessee.
"We like coming up with new things, but, like Zac says, it's usually at home, at practice," Williams said. "We usually write intros and outros for shows, and that's a good outlet for us, and a way to keep our creative brains rolling and keep our chops up. But, like he said, it's like two seconds and then we're done."
And Paramore will have even more time to work on those two-second outbursts (maybe even extending them to four or five seconds) when they hit the road on the Honda Civic Tour with Tegan and Sara and New Found Glory. The trek kicks off July 23 and already, Williams and company are getting pumped — even if it means they're not going to be home any time soon.
"We all like a bit of everything, musically, and you can usually tell that in our [concert] bills," Williams said. "I think Honda Civic Tour is the most diverse lineup we've ever had. And I'm really psyched about it. I saw Tegan and Sara in Nashville, and they were great. It's going to be a lot of fun!"
