Exodus brings Toxic Waltz to Singapore with 3 Epic Moments!

Yet another awesome thrash metal act brought in from the guys of Cynical Sounds! This time it's the legendary Exodus!

Venue-wise, however, it's a bit disappointing to say the least. The Republic Polytechnic Cultural Centre Studio isn't the best built for an all-out assault type of gig with only a limited area for standing and moshers. The 2nd level is a balcony with seats that many will be tempted to settle down.

And the minute the guitars and drums came in on The ballad of Leonard and Charles, the mix was a disaster. It was almost a ball of noise. Thankfully things got much better after a few songs but still far from optimal.

Despite that, the energy of this band from the "Eighties" is at an all-time high with lead vocalist, Rob Dukes. Almost non-stop aggressive vocals for 1.5 hrs really leads you to thinking "what's he made of?"

On the other extreme stands the only standing member throughout all their records, as Rob puts it, the one and only Gary Holt! His precision on the guitar undoubted but his calmness and coolness on stage just gives him so much Star Power!
The setlist for this gig was the bomb!

Also saw the eldest headbanger I've come across at a gig standing right in front of the stage chanting to the Exodus anthems! My utmost respect to you sir!

To top this awesome gig off, there were 3 epic moments:
1. The smallest circle pit ever. The crowd was great but I say this and I will say this again, the venue sucks big time.
2. The gayest "stage" dive ever. Climbing onto the balcony only to slowly push himself off the 2m balcony with hands already supporting his ass. It was just pure hilarious lol. Anti-Climax.
3. The most unexpected mosher ever. The dude wearing a suit and a tie to a thrash metal gig and challenged by the band to join in the mosh! And guess what? He did just that and got himself a drum stick and a pick, hell I'm gonna wear a tie next time. Alright credit to him really =) He looks like an awesome guy heh.
