Local Music Scene IGNITE! Once Again

One of the most highly anticipated local music events annually, IGNITE! 2010's line-up promised one hell of a gig and the delivery easily exceeded expectations!

Granted the weather was gloomy throughout both days, but it just went further to prove the passion of the music fans for IGNITE! having braved the rain and supporting the great music showcased.

We caught Monochrome, The Marilyns, and B-Quartet on Day 1 and boy where they good. The headliner, B-Quartet, really displayed their genius with their exceptional progressive element in their compositions. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but their musical genius is undeniable.
Day 2 promised to be even better seeing several metalheads gather in front of the stage and we all know why. Meza Virs. Having first seen them at Baybeats 2009, we have to say they have one of the best followers. And we all know how metal followers show their support, something along the lines of the letters M-O-S-H.
The sudden cut off in their set as they were preparing the Wall of Death was puzzling though. Was it a genuine technical failure or was it an intentional attempt to prevent the Wall of Death from being carried out? Fill us in if you know =)
Zero Sequence once again performed at an exceptional level with every member a master of their instrument and completely displayed through their performance. Instrumentally just perfect and topped up with the insane vocal range of their vocalist, Mang (more commonly known as the rhythm guitar/vocalist of the might Goodfellas).
And end off the entire event with one of the local favourites, Plainsunset! A perfect end to the event!

A big thank you to the organizing committee for the invitation and the media pass! An awesome music event for a good cause! Passion & Compassion!
