Zee Avi @ Timbre Arts House
It was a memorable day for Live4MusiC team on the 13th September as
we were invited down to Timbre Arts House for "Stripped With Zee
Avi" event.It was a closed-door event and we would like to thank
Timbre for inviting us!
There was already a long LONG queue of avid Zee Avi fans waiting in excitement to enter when we arrived at Timbre Arts House.
For Zee Avi fans, what could be better than this to watch Zee Avi and her band perform live unplugged, at Timbre with their awesome pizzas (and did I mention their roast duck pizza was like THE BEST?) and beer to go with it!
Timbre became packed as soon as excited fans started to stream in to locate any available space left untaken, with fans even sitting on the floor right in front of the stage, and some also standing and occupying the whole walkway in Timbre. At this point, everyone was waiting in anticipation for the star to appear.
To kick off the show, 987fm DJ Miss Vendetta gave away 2 CDs of Zee Avi, (literally gave away) with really simple questions of Zee Avi. Here are pictures of the 2 winners!
A really enthusiastic fan of Zee Avi, she specially brought her bee balloon to wave it into the air when Zee Avi plays her "Honeybee" song, and the balloon is also a gift for Zee Avi! Aww.. so sweet...
Zee Avi finally appears with her band!
She played many songs from her album and songs that got her fans high and singing along together, were her popular hit single" Bitterheart" (commonly played by 987fm), "Honeybee" amongst others.
I personally liked the song "Kantoi" which is a mixture of English and Malay lyrics. Zee Avi also mentioned that she was excited to perform this song in Singapore because she had gotten weird stares and confused expressions when she played this song in the States.
"Kantoi" is a song about a guy cheating behind his girlfriend's back, and the beat and lyrics of the song is just so cute and catchy, with a Singapore/Malaysian flavour to it with the mix of english and malay words.
In between her songs, Zee Avi never fails to humour the audience with her funny jokes. Her gregarious and down-to-earth personality adds on to her charisma as a singer, and makes her performance really a pleasure to watch.
A mesmerized crowd...
There was an autograph session right after the performance, and fans were given a chance to purchase her CD and get her autograph. Avid dieheart fans instantly formed a long queue outside the bar for photos and autograph session!
To end off, the event was awesome with Zee Avi's beautiful vocals, and a chance to get close to Zee Avi. Live4MusiC hereby wishes Zee Avi all the best in her singing career and continue to wow the world around, not forgetting to stop by Singapore again in future and hopefully having a concert here!
