Ke$ha's Album Will 'Ressurect' Rock (UG)

By Yuda

Ke$ha claims she will "resurrect" rock with her new album.

"People say that rock and roll is dead, and it is my mission and my goal to resurrect it in the form of my pop music," she told MTV News "That's the goal. We'll see what happens."

A foray into the rock world for the pop singer seemed inevitable after a run of rock-related stories through 2011. In May, sheclaimed to be obsessed with rock n' roll, and later joined Alice Cooper on stage for the second time to perform "School's Out."

"I’ve been pretty much in this 70’s rock and roll kick and I want to capture some of the true essence of what rock and roll is, and that’s just irreverence and sexiness and fun and not giving a f--k, so we’ll definitely put a bit of rock and roll in it," she said in May. She added that there may be some collaborations with her rock heroes, though the official tracklisting is yet to be confirmed.

Ke$ha is not the only pop princess to have made steps towards the world of rock. Lady Gaga has also been snapped backstage alongside Iron Maiden, later claiming that the band changed her life. It's almost as if the pop industry saw U2's record-smashing 360 tour revenue and decided to arrange a concerted move towards live rock performances so they can get a slice of the pie.

Cynical? Perhaps, but you might say that the signs are pointing towards a rocking 2012, both on and off the charts.

Alice Cooper Buying Gaga A Bible

By Yuda

Alice Cooper is getting Lady Gaga a bible and a cookbook for Christmas.

The shock rocker is good friends with Gaga and looking to get her some useful everyday objects, which he thinks may help her if she wants to tone down her outrageous behaviour.

He told NME magazine: "I know Lady Gaga really well. And for Christmas I'd get her a Betty Crocker cookbook. That and a subscription to Good Housekeeping - because those are the two things I know she doesn't have. Maybe I'd also get her a bible, actually."

Alice - real name Vincent Furnier - added he relates to the singer because their on stage alter-egos are very different to who they are in real life.

"She created a character named Gaga. I created a character called Alice Cooper that I play. I'm not Alice now, I'll be Alice tonight. She writes songs for her, I write songs for Alice. I think she's great."

Alice's "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" album is out now.

Thanks for the report to ContactMusic.com.

Alice Cooper: Halloween Came Early

By Yuda

This was our first gig at Hard Rock Hotel Resorts World Sentosa and we were really excited with this new venue. You can't compare this venue to the likes of Fort Canning Park and The Max Pavilion etc. In fact, our first thoughts were "hmmm...the stage is small..." It is smaller than the bigger venues for sure but don't judge the venue till you hear the gig!

Alice Cooper entered with a huge bang with The Black Widow. It was a sign of things to come with a fully equipped theatrical stage and Alice Cooper, himself dressed as a Black Widow!

Alice Cooper is No More Mr. Nice Guy (CNA)

SINGAPORE: It's not a nightmare and more of a dream for rock fans as Alice Cooper heads to Singapore for the first time with his "No More Mr. Nice Guy" concert that coincides with the release of his album "Welcome 2 My Nightmare".

To say he's shaped the culture of heavy metal and made the name Alice anything but sweet, is an understatement to those still unfamiliar with the 60-something rocker who will descend with "Guitar Goddess" Orianthi in tow come October 5th.

"Singapore will get the Full Alice treatment," said Cooper of his show this week at The Coliseum at Sentosa's Resorts World.

It's not clear if the prop boxes being unpacked in Singapore will see electric chairs and guillotines for the executions and other shock-rock theatrical concerts that is trademark Alice Cooper.

As amazing and outlandish as his shows have been, Cooper did reveal that that he has never had one of his shows banned.

"There is nothing truly 'shocking' about my show these days. It's more like a circus- there is a certain amount of comedy. Comedy goes great if you mix it with horror," he said in an email interview.

Performing in Singapore for the first time, the rock legend is as excited to play here as his fans are to see the rock horror master in the flesh.

"We've travelled everywhere. It's rare for us to perform in a city we've never played in before so for us it's something new."

He'll be heading to Singapore from Australia with Down Under guitar prodigy Orianthi Panagaris.

"Orianthi is an extremely talented guitarist. It's refreshing to see young women own the stage like some of these girls do," said Cooper of his newest tour member.

Apart from Orianthi, who last performed here at Singfest 2010, Cooper has also collaborated with rock-chick Ke$ha who features in his latest album "Welcome 2 My Nightmare".

The sequel to 1975 multi-platinum album, "Welcome To My Nightmare" which was released in September has been described by the creator himself as having an old-school sound although everything on the album is brand new.

"The things that scare Alice are different now. A nightmare can go in a million directions… but mostly it's just insane and that's what we try to capture in the album," Cooper said.

At age 63, Cooper has no plans to slow down and one thing's for sure, fans and newbies alike will not forget for a long time, the one night of 'No More Mr Nice Guy'.

As if making a promise, Cooper said: "I do know that fans usually remember it as of the best shows that they have ever seen."

Alice Cooper Picks Ke$ha To Be The Devil

By Yuda

Alice Cooper just released his 26th studio album to date, “Welcome 2 My Nightmare”, which acts as a sequel to his debut album. To the surprise (and dismay) of many fans, pop star Ke$ha made a guest appearance and contributed vocals to a track on the record. In an interview with Classic Rock Revisited, Alice Cooper explained why he chose to work with Ke$ha.

“I sometimes rebel against my own fans,” the shock rocker stated. “When my fans come up to me and go, ‘You can’t have someone like her on your record.’ Then I go, ‘I can’t? Why?’ If someone tells me that I can’t have Vince Gill play lead on a song, then I say, ‘Why?’ If he plays the greatest guitar solo that you ever heard then who cares?”

“When I met [Ke$ha], I had an idea for a song,” Cooper continued. “I needed a character to play the devil. In the song, she finally has enough, and its time for Alice to pay her with his soul. We decided to call it ‘What Baby Wants Baby Gets’ because in the song he tries to say, ‘Hey, that wasn’t part of the deal’ and she says, ‘No, no, no, you don’t understand, what baby wants, baby gets!’ For me, it was a perfect line for her to say.”

Alice Cooper also mentioned that he offered Ke$ha some advice and is currently trying to convince her into abandoning the Diva image and becoming a real rock singer:

“I met Ke$ha at the Grammys and she never looked, to me, like a Diva, she looked like a rock singer. I told her, ‘Eventually, everyone leaves the Divas. There is no way you can have a long lasting career as no one ends up loving the Divas forever. However, everybody loves a rock band.’ It’s true, no one ever says anything bad about Chrissie Hynde. I am trying to talk her into getting a real rock band behind her.”
