After destroying Pink Floyd, Scissor Sisters want to do a honky tonk Nine Inch Nails cover.

Scissor Sisters' frontman Jake Shears has revealed to Spinner he is a huge fan of Trent Reznor - and this time his band wants to do a cover of the Nine Inch Nails track "Piggy".

Talking to Spinner ahead of the release of their third album "Night Work", Shears explains, "I love cover songs and I've always wanted to do a honky-tonk version of 'Piggy.' Me and [bandmate] Babydaddy are huge fans of Nine Inch Nails, I think Trent is a real genius."

In case there is someone interested,Scissor Sisters' frontman shared his thoughts on the band's forthcoming new record.

The singer said although he felt under pressure for it to perform following the previous two chart-topping LPs, he was "immensely proud" of the finished product.

Shears adds, "I think it's our most fun record. It's so over-the-top, a real party album. It's a celebration of sex in a lot of ways, there's all sorts of points of view in there, gay, straight and everything in between. There's a dark streak that runs through it though, if you read between the lines.

"There's some of the filthiest stuff we've ever written, but we've made it all so everything is innuendo to keep the radio people happy. The album is one ecstatic, joyful, sadistic disco nightmare!"

Trent Reznor’s How To Destroy Angels have released their EP on their official website for free.

A $2 “hi-def” option is also available for the six-track, self-titled EP and will feature lossless audio along with a download of the bands music video for the track, “The Space In Between“.

These are strange days in the music industry. While the major labels are crumbling due to rampant downloading of pirated music, the Internet has also given bands the means to go their own way--to a growing extent, they are no longer dependent on an EMI or Warner Music to get their music to fans.

The new band, which is made up of the musician and his wifeMariqueen Maandig, have launched their website and released a 40 second video clip, which introduces an ambient, heavy electro sound, and shows a woman's hand - believed to be Mariqueen's - working a synthesiser.

The only statement released so far by the band reads: "Self-titled 6-track EP out this summer. Exact date TBA."

Multi-instrumentalist Trent- who retired his band Nine Inch Nails from playing live last year - has previously promised he will release new music this year, saying in December last year he will be working on projects: "Including new material from Nine Inch Nails and something else that isn't Nine Inch Nails."

One of Trent's friends, electro-rocker Gary Numan, recently said the new material will be a departure from the polished industrial metal sound of Nine Inch Nails.

He said: "I went out to dinner with Trent and he said then that it'd be great to do something very different from what both of us have done before, which sounds very exciting. I know he's been back in the studio working on stuff. He works constantly."
